Hi,
My brother inherited a 1962 Johnny Smith Archtop Gibson in excellent condition with the original pickups and tuners from our father who was a world renown jazz guitarist (Johnny Fourie) who died in August 2007.
The guitar was previously owned by John McLaughlin and was given to my father as a gift by him in 2003 (they were long time friends and John McLaughlin held my father in high esteem).
My brother went to John McLaughlin’s home in Monaco to fetch the guitar from him for our Father and has a verifying letter from John McLaughlin for Custom purposes.
Please could you give my brother and I an estimate of the value of this guitar .
With thanks,
Deborah and Sean Fourie.
Please we would like to get in touch with Deborah (Fourie) Wallis, whom had enquired about the value of the guitar in the above mentioned comment.
We are old friends whom have not seen one another for many years, and would very much like to get in touch with them again.
Please be so kind to forward contact details to me.
Kind regards
Retha & Gerry Fourie

Thanks for the info. Can’t believe it’s been twenty years since they started issuing this guide. Where has the time gone?
My Dad has an all original 1959 Gretsch Country Gentleman with Gold Hardware. It was purchased brand new in 1959. It has never been sold, refinished, attempted to be restored or anything. It was played for many many years. We are looking to find out what it is worth? Please contact me via e mail to discuss further.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Travis
