Remembering Pearl Harbor
Dec 2nd, 2008 | By CollectOs | Category: MiscellanousLife for a young sailor, based in Hawaii during the early 1940s, must have seemed an idyllic assignment with sunny days at the beach, routine drills on base, and time spent with comrades. One young sailor vividly captured the times with photographs and carefully posted them in an album. On the morning of December 7th, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the album was the one thing the sailor saved during the attack. Will Seippel, CEO and founder of WorthPoint, recently purchased the album and thought the members might enjoy the photos as much as he does. the bay is peaceful now where once a battle raged in standing on this
platform above ARIZONA’S grave a thousand men below me asleep
in heroes rest your names upon the marble wall you were AMERICA’S
best.

price you had to pay we will remember you as we have throughout the years we will remember
you as ARIZONA sheds her black tears.
across FORT ISLAND UTAH lays upon her side her brave crew not forgotten 54 of them had died
all across OHAU our faces under fire the heroes of the harbor fought on with one desire the
losses here were heavy but we’d show them we’d fight on after four more years of the world at war
our victory was won.
