This Veterans Day, www.VetFriends.com encourages the community to enjoy and appreciate an authentic collection of online military photos honoring the many brave men and women who are veterans of or whoare currently serving in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) October 25, 2008 — This Veterans Day, Americans will come together to express their respect and gratitude towards U.S. veterans and military personnel. VetFriends.com - the largest Web site for reuniting U.S. veterans - encourages the community to enjoy and appreciate an authentic collection of military photos at www.vetfriends.com/militarypics, honoring the many brave men and women who have served or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. All photos, both color and black and white can be uploaded free at http://www.vetfriends.com/MilitaryPics/image_upload.cfm, where they are then edited, resized, approved for content and posted live for the world to see.   1. hello. my name is ben mckernan and my great-great granfather served in the army. he enlisted in 1853 in mboston., then shipped out on the ss san francisco with the massachusettes 3rd artillery regiment, company l. the ship lost power and floundered of cape hatteras. i would like to know if there were any official file photos of troops backthen and if not, when did the army begin photographing the individuals for record puposes. after being discharged in oregon when his enlistment ended, he bought some land in oregon and lived his life with his wif4e and kids. he re-enlisted and retired with over 20 years of service and was buried at soldiers home in washington. how do i find a photo?
